Outdoor Classroom Space

Outdoor Classroom Space

On August 19, volunteers from Lowe's spent part of their day at Newcomer Academy delivering and assembling new outdoor tables and benches. Newcomer will be able to use this new outdoor classroom space created by the "Lowe's Heroes" - Matt Collins and Rob Negron - for the 2016-2017 school year. All of this was made possible by a Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant. Newcomer Academy math teacher Christa Wolack, who submitted the grant application requesting the outdoor furnishings.

For more than 65 years, Lowe's has supported their communities. The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation recognizes the importance of financial support of local school districts and has focused efforts on ways to provide the tools to help educators and parent groups through educational challenges by providing the greatest impact, with basic necessities being the priority.
